2026 Seasonal Themes & Schedule

What is Sweet Success about?

Sweet Success was born from gratitude… and a little spark of inspiration.

You know how that one donut shops gives students free donuts for good grades? We always loved that idea. A small, sweet way of saying, “We see you. We’re proud of you.”

And it got us thinking… what if we did something like that for our community?

Because every day, people walk through our doors and share their stories. Stories of resilience. Of starting over. Of caregiving. Of building something from nothing. Of showing up for others even when it’s hard.

And so many of those stories— especially in our Latino community— don’t always get the spotlight they deserve.

Sweet Success is our way of changing that.

At its core, this program exists because representation matters. Because there are incredible people uplifting our neighborhoods quietly — teachers, small business owners, volunteers, community caregivers — and they deserve to be seen, honored, and celebrated.

Through Sweet Success, we shine a light on local Latino individuals who are making a real impact through their work, their dedication, and their heart. The ones who lead with kindness. The ones who create space for others. The ones who remind us what togetherness actually looks like.

This is our way of saying gracias.

How it works

Nominate an individual from the latino community, who you think should be celebrated.

1

Every season, we select one or two nominees to be featured in our social media and website.

2

They receive an Amidulce cake as a token of appreciation!

3

Meet Naomi.

Naomi Peña is the Founder & CEO of That Art Party, a creative space for BIPOC adults to connect, play, and make art freely. Born and raised in SF to Mexican immigrants, she left education to build a fun, accessible creative community.

Inspired by the Bay Area's culture and her ancestors' resilience, Naomi is on a mission to make art a celebration for all.
